Room: Karl Dean Ballroom B1
This symposium will overview the importance of imaging immunity and immune response in today's environment where immune system-targeted therapies are increasingly used to treat cancers. Dr. Mukherjee will overview some principles of diffusion-based assessment of immune response to therapy, including a short primer on immune response characteristics, Dr. Nimmagadda will discuss some current attempts to quantify immune checkpoint therapy response and finally Dr. Welsh will overview how radiation therapy impacts, and is impacted by, immune responses to therapy.
Learning Objectives:
1. Fundamentals of response to immune-system based therapies.
2. MR and quantitative approaches to imaging immune response
3. Understand the interactions of radiation and the immune system
