The New Professionals Subcommittee (NPSC) offers a New Members Symposium (NMS) at each Summer Meeting in order to provide information about how to become involved with AAPM and how to deal with issues that students, trainees, and people new to medical physics jobs are faced with. This summer our topic is New Initiatives for AAPM, and we invite you to come with your questions about what AAPM Councils and Committees are doing and how you can become involved.
NPSC representative Kathryn Mittauer will introduce the session topics and introduce AAPM President Bruce Thomadsen, who will discuss volunteering the AAPM, and a panel of experts will discuss current and future work in the Councils of the AAPM: Jatinder Palta will talk about recent, current, and future projects within the Administrative Council; James Dobbins will talk about recent, current, and future projects within the Education Council; Daniel Pavord will talk about recent, current, and future projects within the Professional Council; and Benedick Fraass will talk about recent, current, and future projects within the Science Council.
