Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has great promises in improving radiation therapy from treatment planning to treatment assessment. It can aid radiation oncologists in reaching unbiased consensus treatment planning, help train junior radiation oncologists, update practitioners, reduce professional costs, and improve quality assurance in clinical trials and patient care. It can significantly reduce physicians’ time and efforts required to contour, plan, and review. Nevertheless, we should also be aware of certain restrictions and limitations pertaining to AI, and their temporal dynamics as they will change as new materials and new technologies are discovered in the future. This debate will provide the audience a comprehensive review of the AI technology in radiation therapy in a unique debate setting, and a vivid discussion on the roles and limitations of AI technology in radiation therapy.
