Presentations

(Monday, 7/30/2018) 7:30 AM - 9:30 AM

Room: Room 207

Radiation oncology accreditation by a third party provides a center with peer review of its Radiation Oncology process. It can identify potential issues such as facility environment, staffing, equipment, quality assurance activities, policy and procedures, patient safety, and documentation. All these are essential to improve the safety and quality of patient care. This session will first provide an overview of the three accreditation bodies in the USA, followed by three individual presentations on the specific reviewing process and the common issues by experienced on-site physics surveyors. A specialty accreditation on SRS/SBRT will be introduced as the joint efforts of two professional societies. Lastly, there will be a panel discussion with all the presenters to interact with the attendees.

Learning Objectives:
1. To review the accreditation process and common issues from ROPA by ACR
2. To review the accreditation process and common issues from PAP by ACRO
3. To review the accreditation process and common issues from APEx by ASTRO
4. To discuss the SRS/SBRT specialty accreditation process
