The U.S. Department of Homeland Security established minimum security standards for license issuance and production and prohibits Federal agencies from accepting for certain purposes driver’s licenses and identification cards from states not meeting the Act’s minimum standards. This impacts the boarding of federally regulated commercial aircraft.
If your state license is no longer accepted after January 22, 2018, you may require a passport to board a commercial aircraft.
