With the successful integration of radiotherapy (RT) machine and MRI scanner by different vendors, MRI-guided RT (MRgRT) is currently being introduced into the clinics to substantially improve RT targeting through online adaptation using the superior soft-tissue contrast and functional information from MRI. However, access to this novel treatment system is still limited largely to academic hospitals and large cancer centers. As MRgRT quickly moving into the clinics, it is highly desirable to disseminate the new knowledge gained and lessons learned by MRgRT early adopters to the wider community. In this course, physicists who have been working with MRgRT systems are invited to share their knowledge on the following topics: 1) the general concepts of MRgRT, the challenges of combining MR with RT, the enabling technologies, and the historical aspects of the technology; 2) the experiences of transitioning MRgRT from research to clinical practice, including installation preparation, safety consideration, and system commissioning; 3) technical aspects of implementing MRgRT clinical workflows, including daily MRI-guided online adaptive re-planning, real-time MRI for motion management, and special QA procedures; 4) key concepts of MR pulse sequence development, and the versatility of MRI with regard to tissue contrast, data acquisition strategy, and functional imaging; and 5) future developments of MRgRT. The course should provide a clear yet comprehensive review of the most relevant aspects about MRgRT.

3. Learning the essential knowledge for initiating an MRgRT program.
4. Understanding the unique MRgRT-enabled treatment techniques, the dedicated commissioning and acceptance procedure and QA/QC processes to ensure a successful MRgRT program.
5. Learning the state-of-the-art adaptive workflow, along with future potential workflows to exploit the beam-on MRI for real-time adaptive radiotherapy
6. Understanding the fundamental knowledge of MR pulse sequence development and future directions in advancing MRgRT with novel MR pulse sequences.
