Purpose: To introduce a MATLAB GUI program that can be used to optimize 3D printed materials composition for certain tissue

Methods: Twenty materials intended for several printing techniques (PLA, FDM, SLA) are selected from different vendors and data of human tissue is from ICRU44 report. A large variety of radiation basic data (attenuation coefficient, energy absorption efficient and stopping power) obtained from NIST and recalculated as spectrum weighted average was set as evaluation index. The typical spectrum is 6MV photon spectrum of Varian Linac IX obtained from IAEA and the 120keV CT spectrum is simulated from SpectrA3.0. Optimization algorithm is an implementation of generalized pattern search.

Results: This work flow can view material information, view the response of 3D printing materials and human tissues, view the equivalence sorting of 3D printing materials of human tissue under KV and MV radiation and optimize 3D printed materials composition for certain tissue.

Conclusion: The precision was processed with deliberate selection of measurement methods and turned out to be desirable. This work flow provides an alternative way of material equivalence assessment, which is less convenient but more reliable.
