Presentations

(Sunday, 7/12/2020) 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM [Eastern Time (GMT-4)]

Room: Track 6

The Annual Student Meeting this year will explore the role of radiobiology in treatments of the future. Drs. Vitali Moiseennko, Michael Joiner, and Robert Stewart will present on various topics in radiobiology from the dose response to the basic concepts to how we might treat patients with multi-modalities in the future. One of our very own trainees, Emily Thompson, will present on the role imaging has in telling the biological story. They will give a presentation on the work & vision of their findings followed by a discussion facilitated by student moderators and questions from the audience.

Join us in this session to find out how focusing more on radiobiology as clinical medical physicists can improve patient care.

Learning Objectives:
1. Understand the data needed to provide insights on improving the therapeutic ratio
2. A refresher on radiobiological concepts
3. Examine how imaging plays a role in understanding biological response
4. Examine how multi-modality treatments could play a new role in the future
