Room: Track 5

Traditionally, stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) for patients having multiple lesions has been delivered by treating each lesion sequentially, with a different isocenter for each target. Recent developments in treatment planning systems, coupled with 6 degree of freedom patient support systems, have enabled simultaneous treatment of multiple targets using a single isocenter. Simultaneous treatment of multiple targets is more efficient and reduces the likelihood of a geometric miss, however, many physicists remain concerned about the dosimetric and geometric accuracy of single isocenter techniques. In this session, three speakers with extensive SRS experience will describe SRS for multiple targets and will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of single versus multiple isocenter techniques for treatment of multiple lesions.

Learning Objectives:
1. Gain understanding of techniques for SRS treatment of multiple lesions.
2. Understand the advantages and disadvantages of treatment using a single isocenter.
3. Understand the advantages and disadvantages of treatment using multiple isocenters.
