Presentations

(Sunday, 7/12/2020) 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM [Eastern Time (GMT-4)]

Room: Track 4

The forthcoming report of TG-238 describes approaches to perform technical assessment of the image quality and radiation dose for C-arm CBCT systems for imaging systems (not including LINAC On Board Imaging Systems). This symposium highlights key image quality aspects of C-arm CBCT imaging, artifacts (and their causes), CT # accuracy, image noise, low and high contrast resolution. Focus will also be placed on methods to measure and interpret radiation dose metrics for C-arm CBCT acquisitions. Dose metrics include dose free in air measured during a C-arm CBCT rotation as well as dose in a phantom. Discussion of how measurements of dose in a phantom can be compared to CT dose metrics will also be included.

Learning Objectives:
1. Understand geometric and detector calibrations unique to C-arm CBCT systems
2. Gain knowledge key image quality metrics for C-arm CBCT and how they are measured
3. Assess the various C-arm CBCT dose metrics and how they may be related to conventional CT dose metrics
