Presentations

(Thursday, 7/16/2020) 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM [Eastern Time (GMT-4)]

Room: Track 2

In this scientific session, most recent aspects of image-guided treatments will be presented. In particular, the session will review imaging and safety-related aspects of MR-guidance and monitoring of thermal therapies such as microwave, laser, and cryo-ablations. Use of 2D and 3D ultrasound guidance in focal treatments of liver cancers will be presented. Recent advances in noninvasive cardiac ablations of ventricular tachycardia using radiotherapy will also be reviewed.

Learning Objectives:
1. Recognize the current clinical applications of MRI-guided minimally invasive thermal ablations.
2. Discuss the limitations and safety aspects of the MRI monitoring of the ablations.
3. Describe the use of ultrasound guidance in focal treatments of liver cancers.
4. Understand the principles and recent advances in cardiac ablations using radiotherapy.
