The ACR Stereotactic Breast Biopsy QC manual has been the standard for performing quality control on stereotactic breast biopsy units since 1999. The development of advanced equipment technology for 2D and DBT mammography as well as for SBB units has outgrown these standards. This presentation will discuss which tests are applicable for various models and configurations. Some testing performed on the base 2D and DBT units can be used to verify performance on some add on SBB devices. Recommended guidance in meeting the ACR Stereotactic Breast Biopsy accreditation program QC requirements will be discussed. The future direction of testing will be discussed.
