Room: Track 1

In this scientific symposium, current and future directions of breast MRI will be examined. A breast imaging radiologist will give her perspective on how MRI is currently used in a breast imaging practice, provide case examples, and discuss aspects of breast MRI that physicists can target for improvement. Concerns about gadolinium deposition from MRI exams will be discussed and evidence to date will be reviewed. New MRI techniques that can speed up imaging time and be performed with low contrast or without contrast will be presented.

Learning Objectives:
1. Recognize the current and potential clinical applications of MRI in breast imaging.
2. Discuss the evidence examining gadolinium deposition from MRI scans.
3. Describe new fast, low-contrast, and no-contrast protocols for breast MRI.
