The AAPM Medical Physics Practice Guideline (MPPG) initiative started in 2011 and has resulted in nine published MPPGs with one more nearing completion. The first purpose of this session is to provide the audience with the brief history of the MPPG initiative and update them on current efforts. The second goal is to introduce the audience to the two most current MPPG’s. This will give them the opportunity to engage with the Chairs of the Task Groups that generated the reports and lean how these will impact the profession.

Learning objectives:
1. Understand the history of the MPPG initiative and learn about new developments in the process
2. Learn about MPPG #7: Medical Physics Extenders and its potential impact on the profession
3. Learn about MPPG #10: Scope of Practice for Clinical Medical Physicists and its potential impact on the profession
