Presentations

(Tuesday, 7/16/2019) 1:45 PM - 3:45 PM

Room: 225BCD

In this session we will have three speakers on the topic of nanotechnology in radiation oncology. The first speaker will overview current concepts in nanotechnology development, fabrication and applications. The second speaker will discuss the use of nanotechnology as a thermal enhancing technology that can be combined with radiation to improve therapy. The third speaker will discuss metal nanoparticles as enhancers of local radiation dose. Cumulatively, this should give the attendee a solid overview of the applications of nanotechnology in radiation oncology.

Funding Support, Disclosures, and Conflict of Interest: I am involved in research partnerships with General Electric Healthcare and Siemens Healthcare. I have a research agreement, own stock in and serve on the board of directors of Imagion Biosystems.
