The field of radiation therapy has a whole has continued to provide accurate, precise, and effective methods for treating cancer; however, the process of developing, refining, and evaluating a radiation therapy treatment plan relies on subjective user experience and remains susceptible to human error.
To tackle these issues, recent advancements in scripting for treatment planning (TPS) and oncology information systems has shown potential to lessen the manual interventions and human labor in such treatment related workflows as contouring, treatment planning, plan quality metric, quality assurance, and data-mining.

Therefore, the purpose of this session is to allow vendors to present their solutions and describe how their product uses computer programs based on application programing interfaces (APIs) to assist in workflow standardization and efficiency of treatment plan generation, verification, and evaluation during all phases of the treatment planning process.
