Quantitative Imaging: PET/CT, PET/MR, and MR

T Hope1*, (1) UCSF School of Medicine, San Francisco, CA

Presentations

(Monday, 7/30/2018) 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM

Room: Davidson Ballroom B

There are many examples of PET/CT-, PET/MR-, and MR-based quantitative imaging applications, including techniques for assessment of lesion size and volume, metabolic status, proliferation status, microvascular perfusion, diffusion, etc. Such measurements should undoubtedly be enablers of the practice of precision medicine and, as such, are of significant interest. However, to achieve the full potential of such measures, the sources of measurement errors should be characterized and mitigated to the degree possible. This session of the Quantitative Imaging Specialty Track will address quantitative inaccuracies in PET/MRI applications in a plenary presentation. The plenary presentation will be followed by six proffered presentations addressing PET/CT-, PET/MR-, and MR-based quantitative imaging applications.

Learning Objectives:
1. Understand when quantitative inaccuracies in PET/MR assessments are significant and how they can be mitigated.
2. Appreciate some of the current applications of PET/CT-, PET/MR- and MR-based quantitative imaging biomarkers.
