In order to succeed during parts two and three of the diagnostic and nuclear medicine board exams, it is imperative that students achieve appropriate preparation. This not only ensures a necessary level of content knowledge, but also gives examinees confidence to move efficiently through the exam process in a timely manner. This symposium aims to help those approaching their exam date by instilling confidence in their preparation methods and identifying potential weaknesses in their current study habits.
Separate speakers will share personal preparation experiences for parts two and three of the diagnostic board exams. A final speaker will present on nuclear medicine board exams including preparation resources and associated challenges. This session will provide a broad overview of the scope of the exams, as well as useful resources that may not be evident to everyone. In addition to study materials, there will be a discussion of study methods, which note varied approaches to the exam content. Each talk will also discuss the prerequisites for each exam and how to prepare for “Maintenance of Certification� that begins after completion of part three.

In accordance with ABR exam security policy, no recalls or exam questions will be discussed.-

Learning Objectives:
1. Understand the scope and logistics of taking each exam type.
2. Develop a sense for study materials and methods available for those taking the board exam and how to apply them with the most effectiveness.
3. Understand the prerequisites for sitting for each exam and Maintenance of Certification responsibilities once one has completed the process of initial certification.
