This session will focus on regulatory and accreditation requirements specifically related to computed tomography from: The Joint Commission Requirements for Diagnostic Imaging Services, the American College of Radiology CT Accreditation Program, state health agencies, and directives for federal facilities. Speakers include representatives from The Joint Commission and the ACR. West Physics will provide a consultant’s overview of the State and Federal Requirements related to CT. The session will close with an example of an institution preparing for, engaging in, and “recovering from� an onsite accreditation audit. This session is designed to: educate practicing physicists on the latest regulatory changes, introduce new physicists to the entire regulatory landscape within our field related to CT, and provide an open forum for asking questions at the conclusion of the session.

Learning Objectives:
1. Introduce physicists to the entire regulatory landscape within our field related to CT.
2. Understand how the various regulations and accreditation requirements overlap.
3. Apply the pre/during/post audit workflow presented in the session to your own or your client’s institution.
