Adaptive radiation therapy (ART) -- the concept of modifying the patient’s treatment plan in response to observed changes during treatment -- was first explored with portal images and became more established with the wider use of computed tomography for planning and setup verification. The growth of volumetric and functional imaging and its integration into the radiation therapy process has allowed for ART to broaden beyond this initial focus. Now, a variety of imaging modalities, including cone beam CT, MRI, and PET, are being explored as a basis for the ART process. Furthermore, different delivery techniques including protons, MR-guided treatment units, and different implementations of ART including offline and online approaches are emerging. This session will provide an overview of the clinical rationale for and implementation of these new approaches and discuss emerging tools and approaches for multi-modality ART.

2. To understand the landscape of emerging tools and techniques for multi-modality ART
3. To learn about new approaches to conduct ART with multi-modality imaging and delivery techniques.
