Developing safe and effective medical devices in a cost-effective manner is important to innovation, which in turn is important to the overall quality, safety clinical efficacy, and efficiency in health care. The challenge is to continue to generate cutting-edge, effective, and safe technologies and well-educated, disciplined, and attentive healthcare teams who can use these technologies in a safe and effective manner. This professional symposium will focus on how various stakeholders’ can effectively interact and collaborate in the development of safe and effective imaging and radiation planning and delivery products.

Learning Objectives:
1. Learn how a radiotherapy product evolves from concept to clinical device.
2. Learn how QA devices evolve for RT clinical products.
3. Learn the role of MITA and FDA in approval and post-market surveillance.
4. Appreciate the need for safety improvement in radiotherapy.
