Imaging in proton therapy has advanced in the past five years, utilizing many imaging technologies in clinical care. Pretreatment imaging for proton therapy using dual energy CT is now demonstrated to increase the precision of HU to Stopping Power calculations. In room imaging with CBCT and CT are now clinically used in multiple institutions and can be used for plan adaptation. In vivo imaging for range measurements using prompt gamma imaging is now commercially available. There is a growing body of literature regarding the integration of imaging techniques during the entire proton therapy workflow: simulation, treatment planning, patient setup, range verification and therapy assessment. This session will review the current clinical imaging workflows, the benefits and risks of current workflows, and state of the art imaging techniques currently being deployed into the clinic.
