Custom treatment devices such as applicator inserts, skin collimation, eye shields, and variable thickness bolus allow electron beam therapy to be highly personalized and optimized for each patient’s unique circumstances. For each of these treatment devices, we will discuss clinical utilization, best practices of treatment simulation and delivery, treatment-planning principles, availability of fabricated custom devices, and availability of software for planning and dose calculation.

For applicator inserts, skin collimation, eye shields, and variable thickness bolus, the learning objectives are to understand:
1. clinical utilization,
2. best practices of treatment simulation and delivery
3. treatment-planning principles,
4. availability of fabricated custom devices, and
5. availability of software for planning and dose calculation
